26.2!!

I did it! I’m so glad I decided to run the breast cancer marathon as it was such a better experience than my first one last month. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy the first but it was too packed so sometimes I really felt trapped like I couldn’t run anywhere and many parts were boring. The Donna 26.2 on the other hand was amazing! The race was filled with survivors and supporters with amazing energy and spirit. The morning started off extremely cold (27!! that’s cold anywhere but seriously cold for Florida!) so it took about 6 miles before I could feel all my toes. I was running this race on my own so I looked for the 4:30 pace group at the starting area which was my goal and my plan was to stay with them for the run. It was a great group and I met some awesome people on the run. I can’t say enough about the spectators. Even in the cold there were people along the entire course cheering and many even had oranges and water set up in their driveways for the runners. They were amazingly supportive and encouraging and it made the run so much more enjoyable especially knowing that this was for such a great cause. I’m so glad that I didn’t give up after my first marathon and will definitely plan on doing this one in the future. I even beat my goal and finished in 4:29!

Enjoy your week!

Almost Race Day!!

Last month I ran my first full marathon in Disney which went well and I had a blast! This was my first full marathon so it was quite the experience. The run went through all the Disney parks so there was lots to see along the way. I had joined a local training group last summer which was the perfect way to keep my motivation going. During the week I would run by myself and then run with the group on the weekends for the long runs. That’s when the support was most needed as the miles started creeping up. All in all it was a great group and we had a lot of fun.

So now its take 2! This Sunday I’ll be running the Donna 26.2 which is the breast cancer marathon in Jax. I have heard great things about this run so I’m really excited. I’m going to try and stay with one of the pace groups for support so I can try and improve my time. Yes I’m doing it for fun but I can’t help it if I’m a little competitive and want to do better than last time :)
Wish me luck!!

3D Butterfly card set

Ever since I got the Cuttlebug machine for Christmas I have been looking for any excuse to use it for new cards and designs! I got this fantastic butterfly die-cut which also came with 4 different embossing designs. It was hard to pick which was my favorite but I finally went with these 2 designs for this great friendly card set. These are perfect for any occasion as a note of thanks, birthday wishes or just a simple hello. I doubled up the butterflies on the right in order to give a little dimension and add a simple embelishment. Hope you like this new set! You can check them out in my Etsy Shop.
