Ahhh… summer
I just found out that I have a few vacation days left that have to be taken by the end of next month and there can’t be a better month to “have” to take some vacation time. I had a wonderful relaxing day at the beach yesterday, although I have to remember not to fall asleep until after I reapply sunscreen… ouch! The water was crystal clear and perfect for cooling off. The sound of the waves… perfect for the soothing sounds of relaxation and naptime.
To remember the moment I had taken a few pics and decided to have a little fun with the photos. Recently I had come across some fantastic photoshop grunge techniques and tutorials from pshero. The effect completely changes the view of the beach but I thought it was kind of neat for a different view and feeling.
Enjoy your week!
Capturing the Moment
For longer than I can remember I have been working 2 jobs and never seem to have enough time to do all the projects I have in mind or even take the time to relax. Living in Florida you would think that I spend most of my free time at the beach, but the reality is life starts to get in the way and 1 missed beach weekend turns into 2 which continues the trend. Recently my husband said we have to stop taking things for granted and take more time to relax and enjoy the moments of life. I loved that he mentioned this!
This makes me think of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” So true! There are so many moments that we take for granted. If you take a moment to enjoy them they can take your breath away, so sometimes you have to stop and enjoy the moment before it passes you by.
As I was driving home from work the other day my husband called asking if I wanted to go to the beach. It would already be 6pm by the time I got home but said sure why not. I arrived home to find he had packed a cooler with sandwiches and snacks for dinner and had all the beach towels and chairs ready. (What an awesome husband!) A quick change and we were off. It was so nice to relax after a long day at work and spend some quality time together. Couldn’t have gotten any better… relaxing with my hubby, waves crashing in the background, slight warm breeze… ahhhh.
As the sun started to go down it was time to go. Right as we started going over the bridge from beachside to home the sunset looked amazing and serene. Wait no camera! Quick! Grabbed the phone and managed to roll the window down in time to take this pic while he was driving. Just a simple reminder to capture the moment and enjoy all the simple things in life.
Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by!
